Jer 8:8
How can you say, “We are wise,
And the law of YAHWEH is with us’?
But behold, the lying pen of the scribes
Has made it into a lie.

These words come from the book of Jeremiah, but are these words relevant for people today? What is the significance of this verse? How are the people of today affected by this verse? These are just some of the questions that come to mind when reading this verse. A study of the scriptures will give us insight into why Jeremiah was told to write this verse by Yahweh and the great importance of this verse to the people of the world today and in the future.
Jeremiah was a prophet through the reign of Josiah (640-609) CE and continued throughout the reigns of Jehoiachin and Zedekiah (597-586). These were kings that led the tribe of Judah after Israel was split into two kingdoms following the reign of Solomon.
Jeremiah was told by Yahweh not to have children because of the impending judgment that was to come upon Judah as prophesied in chapter 16.
Jer 16:1-4
The word of YAHWEH also came to me saying,
2 “You shall not take a wife for yourself nor have sons or daughters in this place.”
3 For thus says Yahweh concerning the sons and daughters born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bear them, and their fathers who beget them in this land:
4 “They will die of deadly diseases, they will not be lamented or buried; they will be as dung on the surface of the ground and come to an end by sword and famine, and their carcasses will become food for the birds of the sky and for the beasts of the earth.”

Why did Yahweh predict this calamity for Judah?
Jer 16:10-13
10 “Now when you tell this person all these words, they will say to you, “For what reason has YAHWEH declared all this great calamity against us? And what is our iniquity, or what is our sin which we have committed against YAHWEH our Elohim?’
11 “Then you are to say to them, “It is because your forefathers have forsaken Me,’ declares YAHWEH, “and have followed other gods and served them and bowed down to them; but Me they have forsaken and have not kept My law.
12 “You too have done evil, even more than your forefathers; for behold, you are each one walking according to the stubbornness of his own evil heart, without listening to Me.
13 “So I will hurl you out of this land into the land which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers; and there you will serve other gods day and night, for I will grant you no favor.’

In Deuteronomy, Chapter 28, Moses relayed to the children of Israel at Moab, after they were rescued from Egypt by the creator Yahweh, what blessings they would enjoy if they obeyed the commands and laws of Yahweh. Conversely, they were also forewarned what curses would befall them if they chose not to obey Yahweh and broke his laws and commands.

15 “But it shall come about, if you do not obey Yahweh your Elohim, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

Yahweh has kept his word to Israel. They have been both blessed and cursed. When King David was obedient to Yahweh and caused Israel to correctly worship Yahweh, Israel began to become a strong nation that had peace with its external enemies. Israel, under King Solomon, was even more prosperous and peaceful. As Solomon grew older, he let his foreign wives lead him to false worship. Yahweh was angry with Solomon and told him the kingdom would be split.
1 Kings 11:30-35
30 Then Alijah took hold of the new
cloak which was on him and tore it into twelve pieces.
31 He said to Jeroboam, “Take for yourself ten pieces; for thus says YAHWEH, the Elohim of Israel, “Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and give you ten tribes
32(but he will have one tribe, for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel),
33 because they have forsaken Me, and have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the sons of Ammon; and they have not walked in My ways, doing what is right in My sight and observing My statutes and My ordinances, as his father David did.
34 “Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of My servant David whom I chose, who observed My commandments and My statutes;
35 but I will take the kingdom from his son’s hand and give it to you, even ten tribes.

The history of Israel and Judah can be read in 2nd Kings and the prophets. What we learn from these scriptures is that Judah and Israel were mostly disobedient to Yahweh. We must ask ourselves why both Israel and Judah would continually disobey Yahweh when they were plainly told they would suffer if they were disobedient
One very important reason that people do not obey Yahweh is the “lying pen of the scribes.” When Jeremiah made this statement, he was inspired by Yahweh. Jeremiah was speaking to Judah over 600 years before the birth of the Messiah. But if we study, we learn that Jeremiah’s words from Yahweh were for both Judah and Israel today.
Matt 15:24
24 But He answered and said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
There is no historical evidence that the Messiah ever visited or talked directly to the lost ten tribes. How then did the Messiah contact the lost ten tribes? The very important answer is in your Bible.
The ten northern tribes of Israel were carried into captivity beginning with King Tiglath-Pileser III continuing with Shalmaneser V and completing with Sargon II in 721 CE. They have never returned to the land of Israel to this day. Yahweh has told us in the scriptures that he would scatter Israel among the nations if they were disobedient and so he has.
So where are the lost sheep or northern ten tribes? Josephus the Jewish historian wrote that “the Ten Tribes are beyond the Euphrates till now (c. 100 A.D.), and are an immense multitude, and not to be estimated by numbers” (Antiquities of the Jews, bk. 11, chap. 5, sec. 2). There are ample evidence and writings available today to let us identify the lost sheep or ten tribes. They left the Caucasus mountain area and traveled to Europe and beyond to America, Canada, Australia, and other countries populated by Caucasians. How could Yahshua have been sent to the lost sheep if he never saw or visited with them beyond the Euphrates river? The very important answer is in your Bible..
Many of the Caucasians/Israealites today have and read the Bible.
. The most popular version is the English King James Version. The scriptures originally written in the Hebrew language were not used in translating the King James Version into English in the 16th century in England.
A great influence on the King James Version of the Bible was made by Jerome, an official in the Roman Latin Church. This version was translated from the Septuagint. Wycliffe made a version of the Bible in English translated largely from Jerome’s Latin version 1383. Cloverdale’s English version used largely the Dutch and German Versions, the latter mostly the work of Martin Luther. These versions also relied largely on the Vulgate version translated in 390-405AD
The King James Version was translated in the early 1600’s with work starting in 1609 at the orders of King James of England. The King James Version was greatly influenced by the Vulgate Version of the Roman Latin Church translated over 1200 years earlier. All of these versions were taken from the Greek language and not Hebrew. All of the men doing the translating were influenced by Christian doctrines. It is no wonder then that the King James Version has over 5000 known translation errors.
These errors do not include the very important change the Hebrew scribes made when they deliberately changed the true name of Yahweh by adding improper vowel points to the Hebrew name of the Father (learn more about this change from our booklet the mistaken J). This information is available in a bible commonly used by Christians today, the Ryrie Study Bible. Check the footnotes for Exodus 3:15. Ample scholarly material is available for any student to know the true name of the father and the son. The scriptures tell us clearly that the proper use of these names is crucial to our salvation. Yet most people ignore the instructions from the creator and refuse to obey his commands. They will, of course, pay for their stiff-necked rebellion as Elohim promised, as did the Israelites.
Deut 11:26-29
26 “Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse: 27 the blessing, if you obey the commandments of Yahweh your Elohim, which I command you this day, 28 and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the YAHWEH your Elohim, but turn aside from the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods which you have not known.

When Christians read these verses, they do not think them personally applicable. Most Christians believe that the Old Testament laws and commandments no longer apply to them. Why do they falsely believe they do not need to keep the commandments? The lying pen(s) of the scribe is partially the answer. The lies that have been foisted on mankind have not been done by a lone scribe, but by many scribes over many centuries. Satan first convinced the scribes to change the vowel points of the Hebrew text:
TEXT OF THE OLD TESTAMENT
- Alteration of Original Documents. – 1. Yahweh and Baal: -For various reasons, the original documents were altered by the scribes, chiefly from motives of taste and religion. In the earliest literary period, there was no objection to the use of the divine name Yahweh; later this was felt to be irreverent, and ‘Elohim was put in its place; later still Yahweh was written, but not pronounced. Hence, is Ps 1-41, Yahweh occurs 272 times; ‘Elohim is hardly used as a proper name; in Ps 42-83 ‘Elohim occurs 200 times, Yahweh, only 44 times; compare especially Ps 14 with 53; 40:14-17 with 70; 50:7 with Ex 20:2. Lastly, in Psalms 107-150 Yahweh is again used, and ‘Elohim as a proper name does not occur except in citations in 108 and 144:9. Compare also 2 Kings 22:19 with 2 Chron 34:27. A precisely parallel change is that of Baal into bosheth (“shame”). At first, there was no objection to compounding names with Baal meaning Yahweh (Judg 6:32; 8:35). The objection was taken to it (Hos 2:16 or 18), and it was changed to Bosheth (Jer 3:24; Hos 9:10); hence, Ishbosheth (2 Sam 2-4), Mephibosheth (2 Sam 4:4), Eliada (2 Sam 5:16), Jerrubesheth (11:21). Later still the objection lost force and the old form was restored, Eshbaal (1 Chron 8:33; 9:39), Merribaal (1 Chron 8:34), Beeliada (1 Chron 14:7; compare 3:8). The Septuagint follows the Hebrew; it treats Baal as feminine, i.e. = Bosheth. So too Molech takes its vowels from Bosheth; it should be Melech.

Read the above text taken from The International Bible Encyclopedia very carefully and it can be seen the true name of the creator was changed to mean a false Elohim Baal which is still used by most Christians today. English versions of the Bible refer to Yahweh as Lord and not the true Hebrew name we are commanded to use. Read the following information from the International Bible Encyclopedia and learn how the lying pens of the scribes have taken away the truth from the scriptures.
BAAL
- Name and Character of Baal:-In Babylonia it was the title specially applied to Merodach of Babylon, which in time came to be used in place of his actual name. As the word in Hebrew also means “possessor,” it has been supposed to have originally signified, when used in a religious sense, the god of a particular piece of land or soil. Of this, however, there is no proof, and the sense of “possessor” is derived from that of “Yahweh.” The Babylonian Bel-Merodach was a Sun-god, and so too was the Canaanite Baal whose full title was Baal-Shemaim, “Yahweh of heaven.” The Phoenician writer Sanchuniathon (Philo Byblius, Fragmenta II) accordingly says that the children of the first generation of mankind “in time of drought stretched forth their hands to heaven toward the sun; for they regarded him as the sole Yahweh of heaven, and called him Beel-samen, which means ‘Yahweh of Heaven’ in the Phoenician language and is equivalent to Zeus in Greek.” Baal-Shemaim had a temple at Umm el-Awamid between Acre and Tyre, and his name is found in inscriptions from the Phoenician colonies of Sardinia and Carthage.

This is just one example of how the pens of the scribes have changed the words that now are read as English in the most widely held translation of the scriptures. This change is bombastic! Most of the Christians today think the name of Yahweh is Lord. Lord means Baal, a false god in many of the languages spoken before English ever existed. In the example above, the false Lord of Heaven went back to the first generation of man, continued through the Greeks with Zeus and continues today in the pages of English Bibles. When Christians pray to the Lord they are unwittingly calling out to Baal, the god who pagans have been worshiping for thousands of years. How clever Satan has been in deceiving mankind. The tragic result is that men who do not change their ways will lose their opportunity to eternal life with Elohim.
This change from the pen of the lying scribes has caused millions to break the third commandment.

7 “You shall not misuse the name of Yahweh your Elohim, for YAHWEH will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

The New International Version of the English Bible is the closest to the original Hebrew Scriptures as recorded by Moses. When Yahweh wrote this commandment in the stone tablet with his finger, he wrote: “You shall not cause the name of Yahweh your Elohim to become useless (vain), because Yahweh will not hold ANYONE guiltless who misuses his name”. Billions of people break this commandment today. Millions of Christians who think they are doing Yahweh’s will are really falling for the deceptions of Satan.
There are many religious groups which believe they have a more comprehensive understanding of the Bible than other religious groups even though the teachings they follow don’t have much support in the scriptures.
How do people get to this state? Mankind is in a state of disobedience to the creator of the entire universe; a creator who left written instructions on how mankind is to live their lives. People falsely believe they are going to heaven when they die if they accept the false name of the Messiah as it is written in their English translations of the Bible. They also believe that if they do not accept the name of the Messiah translated incorrectly in the English version of the Bible they will be tormented eternally in a burning hell. None of these false beliefs can be traced to the original scriptures. It has been a combination of the pens of the lying scribes and the tongues of the lying preachers and religious leaders who have aided in Satan’s work.
People will not, however, be able to use the lying pens of the scribes and tongues of the preachers as the excuse to be ignorant of the scriptures. They will wake up from death on the great white throne and will be judged for their deeds during their lives.
Isa 5:11-13
11 Woe to those who rise early in the morning that they may pursue strong drink,
Who stay up late in the evening that wine may inflame them!
12 Their banquets are accompanied by lyre and harp, by tambourine and flute, and by wine;
But they do not pay attention to the deeds of Yahweh,
Nor do they consider the work of His hands.
Yahweh has told us repeatedly that we are to follow his instructions and to gain knowledge about him and to follow his commands, laws and the example of his son. There are no scriptures in the bible that tell people that the commandments no longer need to be kept. But mankind has been too busy living their lives, dedicating themselves to the work of their hands, committing adultery with sticks and stones just as Israel had done in the days before their exile into captivity.
Jer 3:6-9
6 Then YAHWEH said to me in the days of Josiah the king, “Have you seen what faithless Israel did? She went up on every high hill and under every green tree, and she was a harlot there.
7 “I thought, “After she has done all these things she will return to Me’; but she did not return, and her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8 “And I saw that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and given her a writ of divorce, yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear; but she went and was a harlot also.
9 “Because of the lightness of her harlotry, she polluted the land and committed adultery with stones and trees.

Another command that is not kept is the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the seventh day of the week; we are to remember it and keep it holy.
Ex 20:10-11
10 but the seventh day is a sabbath of YAHWEH your Elohim; in it, you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you.
11 “For in six days YAHWEH made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the YAHWEH blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.

There are no verses changing the seventh day Sabbath in the Bible; however, millions of Christians believe the Sabbath is the first day of the week.
2 Thess 2:6-12
7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work, but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed whom Yahweh will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason, Elohim sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Elohim tells us that a lawless one was already at work when the apostle Paul wrote his second letter to the assembly at the Macedonian port city of Thessalonica approximately fifty years after the physical death of the Messiah. We are told in the scriptures that a man of sin will attempt to change the times and the law.
Dan 7:25
25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time.

Have the laws and the times been changed? The answer is yes. The laws have been changed because false religion has been teaching Christians they do not need to keep the commandments. The times have been changed because false religion has been teaching Christians they no longer should keep the seventh day Sabbath and the Holy Days and feasts as given by Yahweh in the Torah, or the first five books of the Old Testament. New days have been given to Christians, days related to pagan worship days. Christmas is not in the bible; Easter is only in the King James Version due to a translation error, corrected in later versions. Christians do not know how to keep the Passover, the feast of unleavened bread, the feast of trumpets, the feast of first-fuits, atonement, or the feast of tabernacles. They do know how to give gifts at Christmas, give candy and wear their best clothes at Easter, and dress up like demons at Halloween, all of which can be traced to pagan ways of worship. These pagan ways have been given to us by false religion led by men of sin. These men have set themselves up as knowing more than Yahweh. They have caused the Israelites of today to disobey Elohim!
We know from the scriptures that the true gospel must be proclaimed into all the nations before the Messiah will return and establish his kingdom. The true gospel will be the gospel the saints, first-fruits, the holy ones will follow. The true gospel will not be the false message we hear from the ministers and their lying pens. These are men who teach that the Sabbath is Sunday. These are men who use and teach the false name of the father and the son. These are the men who deny the need to keep the commandments. These are the men who deny the true gospel and lead many astray. They lie with their pens and their tongues. They are men of sin who have changed the scriptures in the past and who still do so today.
Mark 1:1-3
1:1 The beginning of the gospel about Yahshua the son of Yahweh.
2 It is written in Isaiah the prophet:
“I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way”-
3 “a voice of one calling in the desert,
‘Prepare the way for the sovereign,
make straight paths for him.’

The Messiah is the beginning of the gospel of the kingdom of Elohim. When he came to earth as a man, he left his words and teachings with the apostles. The Messiah’s physical death did not do away with the commandments as we are told by the lying tongues and pens of the scribes. His physical death was a gift to us to remove the need for animal sacrifice as payment for our sins.
Heb 10:10-12
10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Yahshua Messiah once for all.
11 Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;
12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER,

The Messiah came to earth to bring us the true gospel of the kingdom of heaven, to offer himself physically to atone for our sins once and for all. We must follow his testimony and accept and follow his instructions if we are to enter the kingdom of heaven. Very few will do the will of the father and accept the words of Yahshua.
Luke 13:23-27
23 And someone said to him, “Sovereign, will those who are saved be few?” And he said to them, 24 “Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 When once the householder has risen up and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Master’, open to us.’ He will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’ 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ 27 But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity!’

Upon examination of the words, as recorded in the gospel of Matthew, it is clear how the pens of the scribes can make a difference in understanding.

Matt 7:22-23
Many will say to Me on that day, ‘master, Master, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

The Master(Yahshua) will tell the people to depart from him for a particular reason. In the book of Luke, they are told they are “workers of iniquity.” In the book of Matthew, Yahshua tells many to depart from him “who practice lawlessness.” Depending on which version of the Bible study, the word used as “lawlessness” in the New American Standard Version is iniquity, evildoer, or wrongdoer. In the Amplified version of Matthew, the word lawlessness is translated into the phrase “you who act wickedly- disregarding my commands” (ps6:8)
The word used in Matthew 23:7 in the Greek language for lawlessness is defined in the NASD as # 458:

The word translated in the Revised Standard Version is the same Greek word but is translated as iniquity. In other versions, the word is translated, evildoers and wrongdoers.
In the book of Luke, chapter 13, verse 27, the word for iniquity is definition # 93 in Strong’s and means:

In the King James Version, this word is translated iniquity, in the New American Standard Version it is translated wrongdoer, in Amplified Version it is wrongdoer as well, and in the New International Version, it is translated evildoers. Unmistakably, the words of the Messiah have been changed by the translators. The words used for the writings of Luke and Matthew to record the teachings of Yahshua in Greek were different. Both Greek words meant to violate the law or the just system of the law or justice.
These words of the Messiah were meant to convey a very special message to the reader of these verses. That message is: many will be told to depart from Yahshua when it comes time to enter the kingdom of heaven. They will be told to leave because they did not keep the commandments or law of Elohim! However, the translators of the New Testament have changed the meaning of Yahshua’s words, having the effect of leading readers to think the commandments are not required by the Messiah. What better way to deceive than to change the meanings of the words in the scriptures. Only those who are willing to deeply study the scriptures and verify their accuracy will know the true teachings from Elohim.

We have been told that Satan will deceive the entire world in Revelation 12:9. We have been warned that false teachers will be among us. We have been told that Satan’s workers will be disguised as ministers of Elohim and will appear to be righteous but will be liars and hypocrites. Millions of Christians believe they have the truth in their religions, but they are wrong! They do not study the Bible and the scholarly materials for themselves to determine the true gospel. What a surprise awaits them at their time of judgment.
